Blocked Periods
Here you'll learn how to see which dates are blocked in the calendar and, if you're an administrator, add new blocks (for holidays or protected animals, for example).
What is a blocked period?
A blocked period is a date range during which one or more types of events cannot be created in the calendar. Use it for holidays, or periods when team members are unavailable.
The list is split into two sections:
- Upcoming and current
- Past periods
Blocked dates also appear directly in the calendar view so all members understand why certain days can't be booked.
Effect on the calendar
If you try to create an event of a blocked type on a blocked date it will be prevented. Different periods can block different event types, for example only group hunts, or every event. See Calendar for more.
Create a blocked period
Requires administrator role
Only secretaries and team leads can create, edit, and delete blocked periods.
- Tap the + button in the top-right corner
- Write a reason (e.g., "Rut", "Easter")
- Pick a start date and end date
- Tick which event types should be blocked
- Add a short note if you like, then tap Save
Example
During the moose rut, the team doesn't want group hunts during the last week of September. Create a period starting 24 September, ending 1 October, and tick Group hunt. All other events can still be created.
Edit and delete
Administrators can edit or delete blocked periods from the period's detail screen.
